Pakistan army believes in supremacy of parliament: Haqqani

ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP): Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani has said that Pakistan army believed in the supremacy of parliament.In an interview with America TV, he said,”Military for the first time is very clear that sovereignty of the parliament has to be ensured and it is correct place to debate Kerry-Lugar bill.”“Pakistan’s elected representatives, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and their appointees in the government respect army’s opinion but final decision are going to be taken by the parliament.”

To a question he said debate on Kerry-Lugar bill is in progress in the parliament and it should be appreciated.

To another question he said, that Pakistan wants that US should share information with it for the elimination of Al-Qaida from the region.

He added that Pakistan is victim of terrorism and is also playing key role in war against terrorism.

Hussain Haqqani said regional countries are annoyed the role of India.

The neighboring countries are unhappy from role of India, he noted.
