ISLAMABAD: All the educational institutions working under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) as well as majority of private institutes will reopen on Monday after holidays which were announced due to security threats.
An official of education ministry informed that the federal institutions were closed as a security measure and now the ministry has decided to open the institutes so that the students canresume their educational activities.
Talking to a local news agency, President All Pakistan Private Schools Owners Association (APPSOA) Islamabad Malik Ibrar Hussain said that the 750 private institutes registered with the association will open from tomorrow.
The management of APPSOA asked the government to provide security to the private institutes. He said it is difficult to provide security to such a large number of institutions.
Now, we are hiring security guards from different private companies and submitted an application to Chief Commissioner Islamabad for providing weapons in the name of schools owners.
The country is already lagging behind in education sector and the further closure of institutes will affect the students so all the schools and colleges should resume their educational activities, he said.
After the incident of International Islamic University, the private institutes have not received any threat, Ibrar said.
Around 110 private schools registered with Private Schools Association (PSA) have decided to continue closure of institutes unless government provides them security, said President Private Schools Association (PSA) Zofran Ellahi.
Zofran said the association has decided to close the institutes for another week but it can extend the period if proper security is not provided by the government.
